Three lnb holder
Hi,
I have try to make this set up with my 1 M dish and so far I have got nothing. I have no problems with the original single lnbf setup. It works great with my motorized system. Is this setup only works on stationary dish? Please advise.
Thanks

This picture is wrong and the LNBF will never work like that. One of the side LNBF holder whould be pointing down and the other side up. That is because of the skew required to align the LNBFs on the ARC. Also, you will have to aim at the weakest satellite using the center LNBF.

also notice that the lnb brackets are to high on the dish needs to be closer in height to the center lnb. do a google search a lot of places to buy multi lnb brackets.

Thank Sadoun and Rainman for your inputs..
The minute I installed this setup I knew it wasn't going to be easy. The center lnbf is much higher than the normal setup. What do I have to do, if anything, to make this work? Meaning the center Lnbf. If I get the middle one to work I can always play around with the other two.
Thanks

Here is an example of what you might want to do if you can figure out how to hand craft your own which is what I think you want to do.

Thank you Glen4Cindy.
I'm assuming that is your own setup, where did you get the lnb holders?
Thanks,

No, I just found those on a google search. I am not near that good at hand crafting!

From what I saw when I did my "mirror experiments" last summer, the positioning of those additional lnbfs is little more than trial and error. Ie, there is only one focal point of a dish like that, so when you put on a second or third lnbf, it will not be in focus, so I think it's just a situation of being able to move it around to find a spot that isn't too bad. That mirror experiment was really interesting, as the reflections from different parts of the dish moved in all sorts of different directions, like ants swarming around looking for food.
Since people seem to have acceptable results doing this sort of thing, there obviously must be some good spots that work well, so I would think that it would be best to hand hold the lnbf while looking for the ideal spot, then adjust the bracket to put the lnbf in that spot. In a bit more than a week, we'll be in one of those sun outage periods, so it would be a good time to try the mirror method to locate the best position for the lnbf. Ie, you can determine the time when the sun is behind the sat you want to view, then find the spot where the mirrors focus best.

I do not think the size of the dish is big enough to get more than 2 satellites at the same time, regardless. I use a 2-lnb-holder with mini lnb to get 97 and 101(AMC4) at the same time. I can only get good signal with a 36" dish

Ok,
Let me clarify this is not an actual picture of what I have. It was just something I got from the internet. Sorry for the confusion. Never the less I'm still trying to use the device on 1M dish and so far is a no go. I'm not sure what to do. I have been able to pick up a weak single on AMC 103 (12100 V 20000) The Military Channel on my second LNBF. It never goes above 46%. I have try to skew the LNBF but it doesn't go any higher. The main reason I want to do this is so I do not have to skew my main LNBF.
What would be my first step? Obviously I'm not doing it wright.
Please help!!!

I know that people are doing this sort of thing, and get acceptable results. However, really there is no "right" way to do this. There is only 1 focal point of one of these dishes, so any time you try putting more than one lnbf on the dish, it is going to be a compromise. You're just going to have to move the 2nd lnbf around and find the best compromise place to put it. It may take a bit of searching, and don't forget that you may have to experiment with higher/lower and closer and further from the dish, as well as east and west., and also vary where the lnbf aims at the dish. The bigger the dish you have, the better chance you have of getting acceptable results. As I mentioned, I'd really recommend using the mirror technique to locate a good spot. Ie just wait until the sun is behind the sat you're trying to locate, and move a piece of paper around and see where the best focus is. I think this will also convince you that there really is no good place, just an acceptable place. If you are going to use the sun/mirror method, now is the time to do it, otherwise you'll have to wait till fall.

What kind of mirrors did you use and where could I find them? I would like to try this because I think a slight drop of my dish during installation may have slightly bent the LNB arm and the mirror test would point this out for me.
Thanks!

I just went to a hardware store, into their Auto section, and they had an 8x10 sheet of rear view mirror repair stuff, which is a thin mirror material that you can cut with sissors. I also used some things my wife bought at a craft store, but they were thicker. I just stuck little pieces of mirror to the dish at about 5 different places, and aimed the dish at the sun, to see where it focused. In this case, aim the dish so the main lnbf is receiving one sat, then wait until the sun is behind the 2nd sat (ie use USNO tables to find the time when the sun is at the same Az/El as the sat in question), and find the best spot where the most mirrors are focusing. I've still got the mirrors stuck to my dish.
I'd really like to try the mirror thing on my 10' dish, except that I have no way to get to the top of the dish this time of year. I wish I had stuck mirrors on the thing last fall.

This may sound dumb but I have to ask. I have been using the left side of the lnb holder to set up my second LNBF and so far is picking up a decent signal on 12100 V 20000 AMC 1 (46/53). The Safeway network is even higher around (53/60). To be able to pick up this signals I have to move the the dish to the 110 w position. Basically 7dgs off center. So here is my dumb question, which side of the dish my second lnbf is looking at?

The opposite side: Dish is a reflector, a "mirror". If your LNBf is on the east side of dish, it receives a signal from the west side of dish
