Just Finished Install now have questions.

I purchsed a Fortec star 6' Dish, Lifetime Classic reciver and and BSC 621 C/Ku lnb.

I am trying to recive Amazonas @ 61w. The signal is C-band 4.174Ghz

I have a signal which is fluctuating between 33 and 46 on the reciver. Is this a normal level for this reciver? Did i make a mistake and should have the 8' antenna?
Will a better LNB help.

So far the picture seems stable, watched it for about 15 minuets.

I tried messing with skew but the fluctuating signal makes it difficult to see if i have it peaked, the same goes for focal length.

As of now this is a one channel setup and wont be retuned for other satellites. Any input is apreciated.

One last bit of info im On long Island Just east of NYC

Most of the beam is concentrated to south america you might need a bigger dish for better result

bigger dish is always better. the signal level will normally fluctuate some this receiver don't read quality signal that is the most important. but if you get a stable picture would'nt worry about the fluctuation.

there is some on c band ever now and then get some on the ku side. you just have to blind scan the ku side from time to time to find them.
