Preparing for FTA Installation - Comments/Hints/Suggestions?

Just wanted to share with my new friends here the view of the sky from the location I'm planning on installing my dish. This is about 30-35ft from the house due to a tree right in the middle of my back yard... but I think it will work out great assuming I can avoid the fence and the poorly-placed speed limit sign.

Anyway, view to the south:

Southeast:

Southwest:

Any comments/hints/suggestions?

looks like you will have smooth sailing. nothing to block signal for quite a piece. when you get it set up let us know how it goes.

What are you installing a c band or ku band?

My current plan is just to go Ku band - I'm going to go with the motorized system with at least the 90cm dish and the Mercury II receiver. I had even considered going with a bigger dish but of course that adds cost with the having to upgrade the motor, so I'm undecided about that.

If the HH100 or HH120 motors are a lot better then I might just do it and enjoy the better/easier signal.

Anyway, still reading and learning... that's what my current thought process is though.

Dont forget the offset dish design will shoot "over" where you think it will be looking.

That speed limit sign will be of no consequence. Neither will the fence.
Wish I had that kind of "view"....

The only thing might be over at your left (on the east view) because of those few trees, but it really depends where you are located
(edit - see you are in dayton OH).. well you're good to go.
Get a 36" dish SM322 motor, and you'll have some fun.
