Canal Algerie

I recently lost reception of Canal Algerie when the channel was recently moved to (11789 V, 25000 MS/s, FEC 3/4 on IntelAmerica5 97W). I followed all instructions but I am not able to get any reception. My signal strength is 80% but signal quality on a good day is 35%. I suspect the quality is too low for clear reception and if so what do I need to do to improve it?
I tried moving the dish but that is the best I can get.
Any help would be appreciated.

Canal Algerie

I have a 30" dish. I fixed the problem by deleting all channels and transponders and manually entering Canal Algerie first then scan it and it worked whereas if you do an auto scan then manually add other channels it runs out of transponders. My Samsung goes up to 18 TR.

Problems with IA5 TP (11966-H 22000)

Hello,

I live in Houston, Texas. I seem to be having problems with IA5 TP (11966-H 22000). Other transponders from IA5 are coming in OK, but 11966 comes intermittently. I am especially interested in watching Russia Today. The signal from 11966 has become very weak over the last few days.

I have a 36" dish with a mercury II receiver. I would hate to realign the dish unnecessarily. Please give any suggestions. Thank you.

IA-5 is so funny... it's almost like every transponder has its own signal strength, but usually most are quite low in quality. I have a 80cm dish and my CW600 shows 26% qual on some of the lower TPs, and some TPs I dont get anything at all ... quite varying.. oh , well.. that's the way it goes..d'oh!

that is a weak TP I pull it in at about 45% when its a clear day if it is cloudy or raining it comes and goes.

Realign?

Will we will have to re-align our dishes when the new satellite, IA-9, is launched later this year?

11966 Signal Quality

Hello,

I was wondering what the signal quality of TP 11966 is in different parts of America. Here in Houston, I am getting between 35-40%. A few weeks ago, it was in the 50's. Nothing in my setup has changed. Other transponders are mostly in the 50's for me for Intelsat 5. Just curious. Thanks.

The IA5 transponders don't look particularly weak to me. What I think the problem is, is interferrence from G-16 next to it. On my big dish, some of the transponders are somewhat weaker than others, but are still what I would call average compared to other sats, and are strong enough that they shouldn't give people any problems. However on my 90CM, the transponders look like they are being wiped out by interferrence from nearby sats, particularly G-16, which I'm guessing is stronger than the old G4.
I think people are starting to see the problems due to 2 deg spacing, when you get a strong sat next door. Just my guess.

Tp 11966 Ia-5

IA-5 TP 11966 comes in at 59 to 79 % in West Virginia IA-5 has almost all of the free to air channels that are worth watching. But I have a question guys. I can't get any of the KU channels from the Galaxyrku Satelite123 degrees west I belive that is what it is does one need a bigger dish for that one.

I decided to measure "quality" signal (in my own units, of course) on all these posted here transponders. Location: San Jose, Dish - 80cm, Fortec Lftm Ultra.

11789 V 25000 36 - 45%
11836 V 20765 74 - 83%
11867 V 22000 44 - 57%
11874 H 22000 29 - 43%
11898 V 22000 56 - 60%
11936 H 20000 44 - 49%
11966 H 22000 43 - 46%
11991 V 22000 57 - 61%
11999 H 20000 57 - 59%
12053 V 22000 40 - 45%
12084 V 22000 73 - 75%
12090 H 20000 67 - 74%
12115 V 22425 72 - 75%
12122 H 22000 44 - 58%
12146 V 22000 44 - 58%
12152 H 20000 59 - 60%
12177 V 23000 85 - 90%

As you see, weakest transponder is 11874, however, there is no pixelation or signal loss, will wait for rain, and see, how it goes.

Yes, I watch RussiaToday from it almost everyday, and I cannot complain.
And picture quality is still better than from local KMTP station re-broadcast
