I have followed all of the installation instructions, and checked out the message boards but I still cannot find why I'm have the following problem.
First, here is what system I have:

-Invacom QPH-031
-STAB HH-120 Motor
I'm using 50 feet of cable
My Signal is at 72% but my Quality is always at 0%
I have tryed to move it to the east to the west, up/down but no help .
Here is my latitude and longitude:
41.9 N, 87.9 W
So my True South Satellite is AMC-3 it's at 87W
My D ish Elevation is on 23.5
My True South is 180 + 3

we have found the fortec 90 cm dish elevation to be off by 5 degrees try droping your dish elevation by 5 degrees and see if you can get some quality.good luck.

Do you have a small TV out by the dish for alignment?
You need to be on an Active transponder on AMC 87W - use 12180V by cycling thru your settings screen. Leave it on that transponder when you are looking for the signal.
Very touchy - 1/8" movment of dish will lose signal.

What transponder are you looking at for signal/quality?
Do you have the LO freq set right on the receiver?

I have a Pansat 3500sd receiver.
LNB Type: Standard
LNB Local-Freq.: 10750
22kHz: OFF
DiSEqc: #4 (Letter L)
TP: 12110 H 14.025
Positioner Setting: USALS
A friend of mine moves the dish while I look at the Quality level. I also change the settings while he moves the dish around but still nothing.
The Possible sattings I have for TP are:
[1] 12110 H 14.025
[2] 12085 H 4.340
[3] 12128 H 14.025

all 3 of those transponders are no longer active so you'll be trying forever
Easiest thing to do is get it where you think it should be and do a smart scan. Let it go through and find the transponders/channels for wherever the dish is. Then report back and we can tell you where the dish is aimed
Otherwise, go into the edit TP (antenna setup, then scroll down to edit satellite/TP) and change the 12085 H 4.340 to 12145 H 4340 (Montana PBS moved a couple months ago)
Smart scan works easier. I just did that last night with my C-Band. Trying to get G4 (99w) and couldnt find it. Did a scan and found I was on AMC1 (103). MOved the dish to the east and boom...signal on G4

The last time I looked, the 12128 transponder was still active. Seems like he should be able to get quality on that one even though he wouldn't get any picture.
Or did something happen to that sat over the weekend? I think I tuned it in like of Friday, and it was still there.

I'm located at 42.15 latitude and 83.7 longitude. The Patient channel for me is extremely strong. So try 11716 H 04859-7/8.

Interesting, re it moving. I hadn't heard about that. I had heard that another one of the transponders was going away. Perhaps this one will take it's place (hopefully)??? Because even though I don't *NOW* own a HDTV, I still enjoy piping the PBS HD channel to my ROKU, as it gives a bit more selection about what to watch, plus I can record things now to play back later when I eventually get an HDTV (which is when the argument between my wife and I ends over which kind of HDTV is best) (on second thought this may be a while).
Re the 12128, which I'm watching right now, I'm starting to think that there must be something strange about the footprints of that sat, because that is a nice strong signal for me, ie just as strong as the other transponders. Ie:
I've highlighted the 12110, 12128, and 12145 transponders , although all are low by about 2 MHz due to my temperature drifting KUL-1 (it's warmer today, so it's back to being only 2 MHz off).
Notice too that the 12110 transponder is not "inactive", it just switched to DCII.

Detailed Information on End of DC II
Quote:

"On January 24, the HD Channel will begin its move from its current location on Transponder 21 (Horizontal Polarity) to Transponder 22 (Vertical Polarity) as part of an MCPC signal. There will be a short period when services will be available on both Transponder 21 and Transponder 22 – the mirrored services will be only between January 24th to January 31st. Go to PBS Next Generation Interconnection System for more information after the first of the year."

I particularly watch a lot of programming on their schedule 511, and I was afraid of losing that. It's nice to see that they plan to convert those to DVB.
Anyway, thanks for the link! That's good news. I still expect there will be a few channels that I'll be able to use my 2 DCII receivers on though, but it's really more convenient for me to use DVB, so this is an improvement.

I was scanning for AMC-3 (True South Satellite) when I got Nimiq 1
Here is what I got so far.
I tryed to move the dish up and down because you guys told me that the Fortec 36" dish is off by -/+ 5° and I got the Sat Nimiq 1 that's on 91° W.
I wanted to get 87.0° W AMC-3 87° W because that is my True South Satellite. I was acutally scanning for AMC-3 when I got Nimiq 1. (I was using USALS)
How do I fix this???
Do I only have to move the entire mount 3° or 4° east or west to fix the problem, and will the other sats line-up correctly ??? or do I have to do something else???
Thanks for all the help, you guys are the best...
