Re: testar 5 signal
Check the link again.
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installati...Calculator.htm
Keying your zipcode, you will get your long and lat, then keying the your long/lat manually, select Telstar, you will get the azimuth and dish elevation. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to get the magnetic deviation.
The correct azimuth of Telstar5 = the azimuth you get from online caculation +/- the magnetic deviation.
Set the lnbf skew correctly.
Go to the receiver menu to make sure the Lnbf settings is universal. You need to use active transponders when tuning the dish:

Good luck

Dear Mod:
Thank you. Yes I did all this. Now I got the signal upto 70%
and I am not getting anything on the quality bar-no matter what I did.
Am I not doing something? I followed correctly all the instructions given in setup. Mine is univ.lnb.
what am I doing wrong? is there a possibility the receover is malfunctioning?
Pleeeease help

Ku signal is a bit weak, so I takes some patient to get lock on the sat you want. You need to move the dish elevation up/down few degrees, turn to dish left/right. When you move the dish left/right, only move it 1/2 or 1 deg, wait for few second so the receiver has enough time to get lock. Few thing to double check:
1. Make sure you set LO at universal.
2. Make sure the skew is correct. Check the link again for reference.
3. Use active transponders when tuning the dish.
Good luck

How do you set LO on universal LNB? I see no such setting. In antenna settings it has lnb type. universal, single, single-s,and wide. Below that it has lnb power v/h, 14v skew on,18v skew on,and off. I don't see anything about LO. Help please.

My receiver does not have a menu screen like that. I am trying to install a fortec- 786v3 model and it does not have an option to set at LO. At least I can't find it.

When the LNB type is highlighted press OK on your remote, that should bring up the value then you can change it. Fortec star is already set to work with fortec star universal lnbf, LOw 9750 High 10600

Single dish
For a single dish, you'll have to adjust the skew with the LNB. To know how you have to adjust your skew, go to the installation section of sadoun's site.

Dish
For Intelsat America 5 (Formerly Telstar 5 or T5) you have to get a 30 inch dish. On a 30 inch dish, the LNB can be skewed, unlike DBS dishes.

You might be able to "twist" the mount to skew the whole dish, rather than turning the LNB like on FTA dish.
Also, a dish 500 dish will only get dish stations, not T5. Its too small...

need your zip code, and the heading you were attempting to aim at to get T5 - would help a lot.
