In North Carolina, trying to find Telstar 5
trying to get telstar5
with fortec fta rec and universal LNB.
so far I have no luck.
I am having the same problem. Just installed my dish yesterday, used a compass to point to 209 plus 9 degrees for magnetic adjustment and 44 degrees. I get no signal. One question I have is:
When I installed the dish I followed the instructions exactly. I mounted the 45 degree dish pole-mast on the side of a 6x6 pillar, made sure the top section of the mast was exactly 0 degrees, then I put the dish and lnb together, set the LNB skew to counterclockwize 23 and installed this on top of the mast. I noticed that the compass setting on the dish was 30 degrees when the dish and mast are 0 degrees. So do I need to set the dish at 74 degrees off horizontal to point to the 44 degree area?
Also, I have cable and when I connect everything through the Fortec and turn off the Fortec my cable worrks perfectly. But when the Fortec is powered up the cable is a little fuzzy on channels 7-99 but no signal at all on 3 or 4. Are these reserved for the satellite when everything is hooked through the Fortec?
