Question Sadoun M1 System

Hi,

System M1
Digipower sg 2100
Outside pole
80w 40 N
Motor latitude 40
Dish elevation 26 (30- 6 was recommended and I found 26 gives me better signal on AMC 5)
All screws are tight except on the pole. Pole was finger tight.

I installed my system today in Pittsburgh Pa. With little tweaking I found my true south satellite AMC 5. System is mounted on the pole which is plumb with and without system on it. I’ve checked my pole over and over again from every possible side and my bubble level was always centered.
Signal strength is about 60% and i get about 12 channels on AMC5 ( horse races mostly ). I also found Galaxy10rk with one channel which is scrambled. Motor is set to 40 deg. Latitude on my dish is at 26 deg. When connected to the satellite meter i get signals all the time on every other inch of movement. If i would go by when my meter beeps, i would not get any signal on the tv. My satellite finder was off. When i locked on AMC5 my meter did not even register it. It only registers when dish is away from the signal (strange, i know)
Problem 2:
When i try to manually( antenna setup / positioner / diseqc 1.2 / west-east ) adjust dish i can only move it east as much as it can go and west till it reaches ref point and no further. What is cause this?

I need all the help i can get. Please help.

Thank you

Satfinder, if it's like my sf95, probably detects Nimiq2 at 82°W, and does not do the job. Use your receiver as a signal meter: it's much more sensitive.
If your receiver does not beep, when signal changes, you may take small TV with you. Not sure about second problem: what the receiver do you have?
Is it old?

Clear the positioner limits and reset them to the position you want.

I have Fortec Classic NA and digipower 2100 brand new.
Limits in the positioner are disabled. I have never changed this settings.
I've reseted this Box and motor to factory setting and motor still does not move beyond reference point west.
Any other suggestions?

Ok when you set up your true south sat you tell the receiver to drive to the sat using USALS and then peak signal. If you manually moved the assembly to find 79 and you are at 80 your entire arc will be off.

That is how i've set it up in the first place. i went into antenna setup screen, selected AMC 5, went into positioner and hit save. Antenna moved to the position and i tried to peak the signal from that point on. I used manual setup when i was not able to find any other satellite. I checked again and again, my pole is plumb.

Relax it is there With your dish pointed at 79 per commands from the receiver slowly rotate the dish east to west until you find something. If you do not find anything raise the dish elevation 1 degree and repeat. Repeat this process until you locate the sat. Once you have located it peak signal with east to west movement of the assembly and then with dish elevation.

Verify your motor setting is on the latitude side of the motor and that it is set equal to your latitude. The motor has 2 scales, one is latitude and the other is elevation. They are not the same. You should be using a small TV and the receiver out at the dish for this setup phase. It makes life far easier.

Did I mention move slowly? Be sure to move in small increments. 1/8" can make or break signal.
