Any FTA satellite equipment dealers in my area
Good day, I'm posting this because I have some diffeculties in locating a dealer that sells FTA satellite equipments in my area - my area is Clementon, New Jersey not far from Camden NJ / Philadelphia PA which is major metro cities so do anyone happens to know any so that I could have saved money on shipping expecially satellite dishes (they're the heaviest part of the system) Thank you for your help!
P.S. on www.superpages.com I noticed it is loaded with Dish Network and Direct TV ads - very loud and pushy ones

Shipping from our location to yours is very reasonable. Also, we will deliver it to your house, thus saving you from travelling.

Not to mention any local dealer has factored in his shipping costs to get the unit into his location.

If you are not in a hurry shipping can be sent with DHL which is very reasonable.

Sales and use tax are technically not "free".
Here in NY, we are required by state law to pay tax on any out of state purchase on an item.
They have made it "convienent" to do so, in fact have placed an entry on our state tax return form to calculate your online purchases to pay for this tax.
Ohio might not have a what's called a repriocity agreement with NY, and your sales records are not shared. Maybe they are, I dont know. But I do know, years ago I bought a computer from a store in Texas, and a couple months later I got an invoice from NY State Tax dept, asking for the tax due, penalty and interest. Evidently that seller shared their information and sales list with NY.
The point I'm trying to make is even though you think you "save taxes" by buying out of state, all's one really does is break the law by avoiding the tax.
This is a public forum and I must say I report and pay all tax for online purchases.

I know that it isn't good to be critical of Sadoun here, but I couldn't let this comment pass. I think that while Sadoun prices for equipment is very fair, I think that shipping charges is the one place where Sadoun is not competitive with other vendors. I'm not sure if this is due to packaging or what. However, before I bought my 90CM, I had really wanted to buy a 1M dish, however for a $99 dish, Sadoun wanted anywhere fron $88 to $415, and that was NOT including the $30 "Home Delivery Surcharge" or the $25 " Truck Lift gate (optional)", whatever these charges are. This is hardly "slightly higher than the sales tax" as you say. I ended up buying the smaller dish, which had more affordable shipping charges, rather than the dish I really wanted. THe bigger dishes are even worse with respect to shipping charges. I think the shipping cost on the small C-band dishes here is higher than I paid (10 years ago) for shipping my whole 10' H-H C-band dish, that weighed 3 times what the Sadoun dishes weigh, and that shipped some 3,000 mi from California.
Anyway, I'm sure that there are reasons for this, such as increasing fuel costs, etc, but I think shipping costs may be reasonable, but are simply not affordable for many of the items sold at Sadoun. Certainly not only slightly higher than sales tax, but often more costly than the item purchased, which was the situation in my case, since DHL seem incapable of finding my house at times.

Yes, I think all states require you to report your online purchases from outside of state and require you to pay sales tax on it when you file your state tax return.
So, make sure you keep records of your orders and pay sales tax on it.
Since we only have a business in OHIO, we are required to collect sales tax from our OHIO customers.

Shipping all depends on many factors but basically boils down to a few. Class and weight. Many times a LTL carrier is far less expensive than using UPS or a carrier like UPS. Other times UPS is extremely reasonable. Liftgate charges are for loads requiring unloading or loading where a dock and forklift are not available. So if you ordered 500lbs of widgets and they were all on one skid and you had no forklift or dock to unload you would require a liftgate equipped truck.
If moving up to a 1m dish was such a considerable increase in cost for shipping were you looking at LTL or only someone like DHL? Once you exceed the package size parameters the costs increase considerably. Basically you should be able to negotiate a shipping costs of $.2854 per mile per skid with the skid being defined as 48"x48"x96" and < 1667 lbs.

W have recently setup an agreement with DHL to provide us some good shipping ground and express rates. So far, we are seeing better rates shipping the 120cm dish with DHL than LTL.

Your product is tricky Sadoun. While taking up a large area vertically it takes up very little width wise in a truck but enough to corrupt the skid area on the floor. Being nonstackable only compounds the matter. I would imagine you could send (1) 120 cm dish for the same price as perhaps (4) on a LTL carrier. I am having very good success with both Dayton Freight and Towne Air for LTL into the Ohio region from Indiana. I have also found you can usually get better rates from regional carriers than nationwide. Naturally if you are shipping to FL you would have to use a national company but if you are shipping within a 5 state area you might look into some carriers that only do that particular area.
While I have not bought a 120cm from you I do feel the rates you charge for shipping everything I have bought are very reasonable.

I agree with you. If we ship 3 or more of these dishes, we go LTL most of the times because it is cheaper. We use R&L and sometimes BAX (way too expensive).
Yes, the 100cm and 120cm dishes we lay flat and put labels on it to not stack anything on top of it. Otherwise the dish could get crushed

I am totally in favor of your switch to DHL from Fedex Home.
Of all the items I've bought from you, Fedex Home has NEVER delivered them to the designated ship to address I have specified.
Luckily, the person that accepts and signs for the packages knows me, and eventually gets them to me.
These are shipped to my business address, we get packages everyday from all the various carriers with no issues.
It's only Sadoun, and Fedex Home - that has been the problem.
Might I also suggest USPS for small items, value less that $100? There's no need to send a plastic part Fedex or DHL for $11 when it could go for less than half that using the postal service.

Yep, we do ship USPS and it is cheaper for sub 5lb items. However, with the USPS, they don't have regular business pickup like DHL/FEDEX has. And the USPS carrier does not have enough room in her truck to carry our outgoing USPS shipments. So, for those we have to haul it to the USPS office. We have been doing that on a daily basis fo so many years and it is a drag.
I wish the USPS would consider setting up daily pickup service like the other carriers. The only way they would come to pickup something is to schedule it 24hrs in advance and you have to do that everyday. Pain in the butt.
DHL is a huge and well established company worldwide. I like their service thus far.
