Unhappy Need setup help. sg-2100 motorized system

Hello, I need some help seting up my new system. This is what I have just purchased from Sadoun:
~ Fortec Star Lifetime CLASSIC NA FTA Digital satellite receiver
~ Digipower SG-2100 DiSEqC Motor
~ Fortec 31" FS80P Dish
~ Fortec universal 0.4dB Single KU LNBF.

Ok here is what I have done so far.. where am I going wrong??

I mounted the pole to the roof of my house making sure it is totally plum.
I set the elevation of the motor using the Latitude side to 28. I Live in Florida my zip is 32952.
I set the dish angle to 25.
I mounted the dish to the pole using my compass I pointed it to my true south location of 186deg.

When I turn the system on The light on the motor turns green so I know it is working. I then went into the controller set up and entered my longitude and latitude specs.

The signal meter never goes above 6%.
When I switch satalites the dish does move but still never can find any satalites.
The LNB type on the setup screen is UNI is this correct?
What am I doing wrong??

yes universal setting is correct for that lnb. once you get all your settings
azimuth and dish and motor angles set. use the motor to move to your true south sat( the one closest to you longitude) then using a active transponder freq see www.lyngsat.com for active tp freq.now move the motor on the pole east or west to get best signal. remember very slow and small movements.if no signal change dish elevation up or down by 1 degree then try moving east and west to you find signal.continue adjust to you get the best signal.good luck

I live in the West Palm Beach area. You are about 100 miles north from me. I my sg-2100 motor set at 26.6 and the dish at 27. I believe the declination angle is suppose to be at 25.5 but that didn't work for me. Basically what I'm saying is that you might have to go up a natch or two. I'm using 79 W as my true south. I believe you should be about the same.
Good luck.

My Experience..

Here's my current experience..

I'm up and working, but quite sure it is not tracking correctly. In my case, it does appear the problem is the dish elevation. My mast is level and I am lined up with the compass at 189 motor ele is set to 41 deg (my zip is 15012)....

The 38.8 dish ele (31" with HH90) gives me no results... Currently I have it at 56 and get part of the band.. if I lower it to 45 I get another part..... and somewhere else, I get another part...

I tried here (I have lots of trees) and at my Dad's house (no Trees), same result. I'm sure it is alignment now (I did have a bad receiver that through me a loop but I replaced it and all is well)....

So (just cause I want to play a lot)... I ordered a new protractor which should be here in a few days and will set the dish to that... I assume the scale on the dish is off a tad (this is just me trying to remember the old C Band days) so I assume I will set it to 38.8 and see what happens there and work up from there..

Some of the fun for me is the challenge...

First of all, I am confused about just what motor you have? The subject of this thread indicates that you have an SG2100, however in your second paragraph above, you mention an HH90. The proper dish elevation will be different for different motors. You seem to be using a dish elevation consistent with the HH90, but it is way off for an SG2100.
Also, you say you entered 41 for your dish elevation, ie your latitude. I think that the HH90 has only a latitude scale, which is OK, but the SG2100 has both latitude and elevation, and 41 is NOT your elevation. So anyway, which motor do you actually have???

HOWEVER, whichever motor you actually have, I don't see any way that you could receive ANY satellite if you have the dish elevation "actually" set on 56. Normally, I'd suspect that you had elevation and latitude scales mixed up, but for an SG2100, your dish elevation is off by some 30 degrees, which is way too much to explain with reversing elevation and latitude. As I said, I didn't think the HH90 had an elevation scale, but if it does, then you'd be low by about 8 degrees, which would result in your dish elevation being some 8 degrees higher, but that would only bring you up to about 46.8, not 56. Ie I don't see ANY way for you to get a sat with an actual 56 degree dish elevation.

I really have to think that you have something installed upside down, either one of the brackets with the scale on them, or maybe the whole motor assembly or something. Perhaps you could take a digital picture of the installation, with enough resolution to see the scales?
