SG2100 missing preset locations

Hi guys,

Once again my motor have gone loco. I have changed the cables, reset the motor, reset the receiver, kicked the dish pole, screamed out a few choice words and still no luck.

This is what is driving crazy, moving the dish from East to West a have no problems going West to East all hell breaks loose. To get to 119 from 129 I have to to 116.8 and then back track to 119. I do not believe the motor actually moves until I go to the next setting. This happens through out the Arc going East.

Anyone have any thoughts that might help me resolve this problem. I'm pretty certain that I have a motor but before I go out and buy one I would like to hear from guys.

Thanks!

Are you extending enough patience when moving? I know sending commands like switching channels in mid movement has a tendency to mess with mine. In other words I wait until I am certain it has completed it's move before issueing any other commands to the receiver.

Knowing that an H tp will move the motor faster I have at times tried to switch to a H tp in mid movement which has resulted in the motor stopping where it is. I then have to as you say back track or at least choose another sat and allow it to travel there before attempting to hit the desired sat.

The one thing I always keep in mind is the cost of these systems when encountering bug type problems. You would be hard pressed to pick up a decent feedhorn with servo & lnbs for the price of a complete system offered by Sadoun.

I can't remember previous posts on this as maybe this was tried already, but did you try to disable the east/west limits? I was just thinking that if perhaps the system thinks it is past the east limit, and it allows moving back west (even though in actuality it is moving east) but might not allow movement further to the east.
Not likely, but something to try.

I have watched the motor stand fast after I have selected another sat and when that happens the yellow light comes on. I spent a few hours watching it happen right in front of my eyes. Like I said before I have made a lot of changes trying to make it better. So far it has the upper hand on me.

That's funny!!

I'm ordering a new motor. If it doesn't solve the problem I will use the old motor for spare parts or use it on my stationary dish. Make it mobile well, one way anyway.
