Diseqc via a FTA/SAT diplexor

Hi Guys,

Can a FTA/SAT diplexor manage diseqc?

I'm presuming the answer is no ........ as the 22KHz tones would not make it to the Sat port (950 - 2400 MHz) unless there is some special provision for this, that I can't see in any splitter specifications.

For the same reason it couldn't support a universal lnb.

True/False?

False on both counts...

Diplexers can handle DiSEqC switches just fine; universal LNBs also are OK with diplexers from what I have heard from other guys on the road, although personally I don't use universal LNBs.

Tks bobkat. Interesting little devices then.

So they pass:

Sat port to Sat port: DC and 22KHz and 950 - 2300MHz (or so)
FTA port to FTA port: 50 - 850MHz (or so)

Shame that the specs don't include this rather useful info.

Yeah, just slap 'em up, bang 'em in and make 'em work ... To heck with all the techy spec stuff...

When you say "FTA" I gather you mean antenna feeds - here we call it "OTA" or "CATV". "FTA" for us has a totally different meaning.

Yup. That's the stuff. Comes from high masts or high hills or both.
