quick google search shows Dreambox 500c is a "cable receiver".
The 500s is a satellite receiver.

It appears that you have the wrong box for satellite work.
Maybe thats why it wont work.

Is that box even available in the USA? Most of the guys here are based in USA so we would not be famailair with that receiver in order to offer help...

I know you say you're 100% sure, but what about the East/West/North/South part. ie you can have the right numbers in there, but if you have mistakenly left it as East longitude or even South Latitude, often the dish won't move, because it's out of range. I know, because I accidently did both. :-)

There should be an area that allows you to store location of the sats. You must do this also. In my Fortec I have a "Go to ref" that sends the motor to 0 and then you save and it moves the dish to the correct location. If you have not programmed in the sats it will not move.
