Problem Installing a 3x4 multi-switch

Hello:

I just purchased a 3x4 multi-switch to connect 3 receivers to 2 satellites. I thought that I only needed to connect each sat to one of the sat inputs and then all four receivers would be able to watch both sats. The problem is that I am only getting 0ne Sat. Do I need to change the settings in the receivers to be able to watch both? Thanks.

wont work with what it sounds like you want to do

a 3x4 will allow you to use 4 recievers off one dual LNB. To use 2 LNB's you need a 4x4 switch (in the 3x4, the 3rd port is an antenna)

If you only hook one line from each LNB you only get one polarity depending on which port you plug it in to.

I actually do this and it does work. I have the cable from my C-Band dish into the 18v (H) side and a cable from G10 to the 13v (V) side. All 4 boxes can pick either G10V or G4H...the drawback is if I want the opposite polarity it doesn't work

You need a 6X4 switch. All LNB's must be dual. Try this.

Thanks. Your info was very helpful. If I understood correctly, whatever sat I plug into the 18v will only give me the Horizontal frequencies for that sat and only the vertical frequencies on the 13v port? If that's the case, that means that theoretically I can scan only the horizontal frequencies on one sat and only the vertical frequencies on the other? Thanks.

Bingo

Thats what I do right now with my G4/G10 setup. Since I only want the nets on G4 C-Band and they are H polarity and most the stuff on G10 is V it makes it easy to hook up that way
2 LNB's, 4 reicevers, one switch

Thats overkill. The flex ports only work with DirecTV receivers. The OP didnt mention if he is using FTA or DIrecTV but the 4x4 will work fine. I use to use that with an Invacom Quad LNB

two receivers and two dishes

hi iceberg:
i have two receivers with one switch (can connect 4 lnbs) to hook up one cable to connect two dishes 119 and 121(both are single lnb). these two receivers only get 119 or 121 at the same time. if one receiver pick up 119 and the other one pick up 121, then both of the receivers can not get signals. after i read your post my understanding is that i scan horizontal and vertical frequencies seperately on each satellite so that both receivers can pick up any one dish at the same time. is that right? thank you very much for the help.

You're right. I read the thread wrong. I thought he wanted to connect 3 satellites.

Are these Dish Network receivers? I'm confused as to what receivers we are working with

If these are Dish Network receivers, that won't work. Let us know what kind of receivers and what LNB's you have. That would end alot of the confusion
