Diseqc question

Have a 100 CM fortec dish with STAB 120 motor and QPH-031 Invacom LNB. I will probably answer my own question? I have everything hooked up and the Diseqc switch for the linear and circular polarity signals inside the house. I wanted it out of the weather. However, the cable from the receiver outlet on the motor to the diseqc and then to receiver does not move the motor. In fact I lose all signals and have to reboot the receiver. If I hook up the cable direct to the receiver, it moves the motor. I am guessing from this that the Diseqc switch has to be outside between the LNB and the LNB connection on the motor? That is the question! Where should the diseqc switch be located? Or am I doing something basically wrong?

yes, you are correct. Receiver -> motor -> switch -> LNB's

On my setup, because of all the "stories" I have heard about Disque switches needing to be close to the receiver and not wanting to try putting it outside, I went with a 22KHz switch mounted outside between the motor and my QPH.

Works fine!

I currently have 2 mounted outside in service with no problems. One has been there since last January or maybe earlier. The other is from a new install I have yet to complete at my personal residence.
