Question New Installation, Receiver & LNB ????

Hi folks! This is my first post, I've learned much from reading previous posts (thanks!) but still have some questions I hope someone can help me with..
I'm trying to set-up a Fortec Star Lifetime Classic NA receiver, Fortec 31" dish (no motor), Sadoun KUL2 Std. Linear Dual ku 0.4 LNBF. Hoping to receive CCTV via Gal.3C. My zip 60423 (41.5N 87.5W). My calculated dish angles elev. 41.5, AZ 194.2 (191.2 +3 M decl) and skew 8.4 counterclockwise.

1) Should the LNB be mounted in the holder where it is slid back away from the dish?
2) Receiver settings- antenna setup page, I'm assuming I select
Scan 28
Name G 3C (95.0W)
TP Freq. 11780-H-20.760
LNB Type: Here is also where I need help....should I set it on 10750 (this number is on the LNB Label), other choices are: UNI 5150 9750 100000 10050 10600 11200 11250 11475 SINGLE-S
LNB Power: 13/18
22KHz: OFF
Position: Off
Sat Lock: Off
Scan Mode: FTA Only
Network Search: On
THANKS IN ADVANCE for any advice/tips!

1. Yes.

2. Yes on that transponder.

3. Pick "Standard" and type in 10750 if you have to.

Other stuff looks OK.

Good luck.

re: New Installation, Receiver & LNB ????

pmb1010- Thanks for the fast response.

As for my receiver's LNB settings, I don't have (or rather I can't find) "Standard". I guess I'll just keep it on 10750 as you suggested. Any idea what the receiver's LNB setting option "Single-S" would be for? And for a last LNB related question- What would be a better choice of LNBF (Universal or Linear) for someone wanting to receive G3C (ie CCTV)? As you can probably tell, I'm not sure I understand the difference between a Universal or Std. Linear LNB. Thanks again for any/all responses!

I think you set it OK. YOu should always set your lnbf settings to match what is printed on your LNBF, and I think you did that. The Universal LNBFs have two freqs, ie a 9750 and 10600, so you dont want' that.

Both the standard and universal FTA lnbfs are linear polarization. The DTV and Dishnet lnbfs are circular polarization lnbfs. THey have a LO freq of 11250.
