I'd say it depends on your location. If you are in Central US and toward the south, your system may be adequate. You'll always get more signal strength with a larger dish, however. I live in Central Michigan with a 80 cm dish system and wish I had at least a 90 cm, just for that added margin of signal strength. I am able, to capture TV from 61W to "not quite" 148 W ( limit of motor ) and its a treat.
As for the "black" and "no signal" channels, frequently some of these transponders are only active for short periods of time ( to conserve power when not in use) and your receiver may catch them during a blind scan, but later they're not in use.
My gut advice is at least get a 90cm dish and a low noise LNBF . Your
HH90 motor will handle the Fortec Star 90 , but might be small for anything larger.
