How do you downwload the programming files for the Fortec Star Platinum NA

what programming files are you trying to download.

fortecstar.com is the mfg website. They have a download area where you can select the appropriate downloads for your receiver. Among those downloads is a loader application ( I think DNUPMan.exe ) which handles the file transfers and basic channel editting for the receiver. You will need a straight thru db9-db9 cable between the pc and the receiver.

Unless Fortec has written new software in the last 5 months or so I would steer way clear of their software for the Platinum. I installed their channel edit software and it did all kinds of strange things to my receiver. It was recoverable with a complete factory reset.
