Another Newbie!

Hi All! Great Forum...

1st, I bought my motorized system 2 weeks ago. Luckily, I work in Columbus and when I was checking on FTA was surprised to see one of the primere dealers in the US was in Hilliard. So, I went down and found Sadown and hand carried my system back to PA!!!!

I have trees, lots and lots of BIG trees, but where there is a will, there is a way... Currently I am watching IA5, AMC1, AMC4, AMC5, and SAT Mex 5 all at about 40-70 signal) ... I am still fine tuning, but I think I'm close (I too had to raise the dish about 6 or 7 degrees higher to get a signal)...

I have 2 current problems...

My receiver is the lifetime classic NA and I want to get IA8 (which should be ok, eastern side is pretty open) but I need to add it... I don't know how!!!! All those tp freqs etcs have me rather confused.... Can someone give me instructions on how to add this sat so I can see the news...

I am also trying to get SBS 6 but the dish just won't move when I go to it using USALS,,, I'm stumped...

Thanks in advance... It seems like a great community here!

Are you using USALS for the other sats? I do not have the same receiver as you do so setup may be a bit different. If USALS is working correctly then I can assume you have the info for your location entered correctly. I only had to enter it one time.

I will ask did you enter SBS6 or was it in the receiver? I can not add sats to mine only alter current entries and any alteration does not allow USALS entry of info so any added/modified sats have to be done with DiSeqC 1.2.

What happens if you ask the receiver to go to a sat near SBS6 and then further drive with DiSeqC 1.2 until you reach it?

Another item to check is did you or was it preset by chance the east / west limits in the receiver? Also Are you looking for sats by name or location? Perhaps SBS6 is in there but not as SBS6. Did you look for a sat listed as 74 for location?
