Dish obstruction requirements-Newbe

Hi

I want to install a 90 cm dish for satellite at 91 degrees but my house may be in the path. The elevation angle to the satellite is 52 degrees. If I attach a string from the bottom of the dish at 52 degrees elevation towards the satellite and it clears the roof by a few inches will the signal loss be great or should I still have enough signal getting through to get half decent reception? I realize you would have to guess but no one is accountable.

Thanks very much for your time.

Hoppy1

Hmm.

I wonder why the Bell ExpressVu technician forgot to install and point your dish while he was there...

I would suggest, before you get too involved in the project, that you take a few moments to read (or re-read) the forum rules to which you agreed when you created your account here.

LOL !!! Good one, but in all fairness to hoppy1, with a 52 degree elevation there is no way he's in Canada so a Bell ExpressVu technician would not have installed his dish.

kat

PS: hoppy1, yes, as long as the sighting clears the roof structure you will be OK.
