If your receiver was an all original receiver then a factory default execution will set the receiver as it was when you originally took it new from the box for the first time. If you have upgraded software in the receiver that came from BEC it should do the same thing but to the default of the newer version of software. BUT all software has a disclaimer that no promises are made.

There is no way that I know of to reverse a factory defauilt execution which is why it asks you are you sure before it proceeds. I have a DBS1000 that I did upgrade software in with factory BEC software and it behaves normally as it did prior to install. Another note on software upgrades. To my knowledge it is not like a computer. Once you upgrade you are stuck with what you have until a newer version is released. They do not allow you to "erase" one version and reinstall an earlier version.

If you do not follow the instructions to the letter exactly you stand a very high probability of ruining the receiver or at least requiring it to be sent in to a certified repair facility to recover the receiver if recovery is possible.

Specifically what problems are you having?

Thanx,I took my receiver to a freind to get it loaded ,everything is ok I got all the channels back ,because my new dish is not yet pointed to a sat ,but I am still fighting to get my dish pointed to IAS 5 ,I have a new 100 cm dish with my old standard lnb (10750 MHZ),but couldn't get a signal yet( strengh 78 & quality 51 ) so far , tomorrow I 'll give it a try ,before calling a specialist.

No I have a fixed one ,but i understood what's wrong .I think i have a house in the farthest corner that's why I don't get the signal ,knowing that I ve put my dish on the patio and I am living in Montreal Canada area ,my dish elevation is only 32 degree,I should get it a little higher .

32 sounds about right for Montreal. Are you in an apartment? Does the balcony from the unit above you block the signal? It is tricky putting big dishes on apartment balconies.

No I have ahouse but the trick is I ve put my dish low down in the patio ,I think it 's preferable to put up somewhere in the house roof , but then I have to drill, and I hate doing holes in my exterior house walls.
