LNBF 0.3 vs Other

A friend of mine wanted to know about my FTA installation. I told him that I was using a LAVA 0.3dB LNB. He said , probably too sensitive, will pick up all kinds of interference, better to go with a 0.6. Is this true? Is there any advantage? I thought that the lower the noise figure, the better. Just curious
Love FTA, by the way. Very nice hobby. Just like Ham radio, for all you hams out there?

BTW, did anyone here ever use lasers to set the azmuth on a dish? Thanks

O.T. - I want a compass with a laser!

Compass with a laser may be handy, I have a hard time with my compass, cannot get a signal yet. But batteries for that laser, I think, may cause a compass point wrong because of induced magnetic field.
Maybe, there are some already available?

No, what I thought was to use one of those "laser levels" like you see on TV. Start out at a point away from the dish and interferences. Then find the azmuth with a regular compass. Then setup the laser level about a foot away from it so that the beam is aligned with the az marking on the compass. Then use a 2nd laser pasted on the bottom of the LNB arm aimed at the ground. Turn the dish until the 2nd beam intersects. Now your azmuth should be as accurate as possible. Maybe someone else could try it and see what happens.

I would be very leery about those LNB's.

I'd trust reputable vendors (Sadoun, etc) what they sell.
Invacom is a good name.

.4 or .5 is what I'd look for.

Yeah, ham. Extra class. You'll find me at bottom of band edges between .000 and .025
All CW. Mostly during contests.
