What is the optimal signal for Telsat 5 in central America

Hello

I live in Arkansas and I have 31# fortec dish that is pointed toward Telsat 5.

The best signal strength I am recieving is 66%. and most of the time it is around 60%.

The quality is fine but for quick motion picture l(i.e. action movies) the quality becomes bad.

any idea how to improve the quality? and what is the optimal signal stringth in this area?

Most likely your dish needs adjustment. I am in Indiana and get IA5 with a 30" dish at roughly 80-88% signal strength and roughly the same for quality. Also could be the transponder you are watching. Over compression of data causes poor quality. Is this consistent with all channels on all transponders on IA5?

Not all of the channels

but many of them, especially (ASC Xtra).

How do I know the quality strength percentage?

I will check ASC Xtra and see how it acts on my setup. What type of receiver do you have? I also have a .3 db lnbf. The lower the number the lower the noise level the higher quality picture.

asc xtra comming in at 80 to 85% quality here in kentucky.

I have very good numbers for ASC Extra but also have breakup of picture during higher speed movement on images onscreen. Most likely overcompression of data. If that is the case there is nothing you can do about it.
