Hi I have been using a pansat 3500s for a while and doing OK!
I sent a Pansat 3500sd to my son in Colorado Springs Co.
He got Echo8 ok I think. Lots of channels.
He wants to get SatMex 5 for his wife. He has been trying with the direct dish and lnb wit no sucess.
Does he need a bigger dish? I have a fortec star 80cm dish and a fortec FSKU-V lnbf I can send to him. Will these work? I have been trying with this dish from florida with no sucess. Maybe the antenna setup isn;t right? He used the standard and I have tried several others, not knowing what I was doing.
If he is trying to get the ku side I think he will need at least a 36" dish for best results.A linear lnb with 10750 lo in setup menu.If he's trying to get cband side of satmex5 he will need at least a 6' dish or bigger with linear cband linear lnb 5150 lo setting.Hope this helps.
The DirecTV dish and lnb will not work. Getting lots of channels with this dish? Are you working with an illegal receiver?
There is not a whole lot on SatMex5 on the Ku side. Most is on the C Band side. Are you working with a motorized system? If not I recommend it. I assume his wife speaks Spanish. There are approx. 50 Spanish language channels scattered across the sats from 30 degrees to 123. If you decide to set up a C Band dish you can get around 118 channels.
