Need help for installing 33" Digiwave pointing to IA-5 Sat

Struggle to get dish point to T5/IA-5. Need helps or directions that can help to get my dish point to T5/IA-5. Below as the hardwards infor:

Receiver : Coolsat 5K
Dish : 33" Digiwave
LNB : lnbf Invacom Quad QPH-031 (connect to linear)
LNB Type : Single
LNB Power : ON
LNB Freq : 10.75
22KHz : OFF
DiseqC Swithc: OFF
Legacy SW : OFF

Location: Lynnwood, WA 98037 - Latitude 47° 51.030'N, Longitude 122° 16.926'W

Azimuth = 147.5 degree
Compass Heading= 128.7 degree
Elevation = 29.8 degree
LNB Skew = -21.1 (Clockwise)

Try No. 1 - Setup Dish Elevation fix @ 30 degrees & LNB Skew -21.1
I rotate the dish left and right between 120 degrees to 140 degrees veryyyyyy slowly.

I used method to find echostar 7, 6.8, etc.

Try No. 2 Setup dish Elvation fix @ 30 degrees
I rotate the dish left and right between 120 degrees to 140 degrees veryyyyyy slowly, rotate LNB Skew between zero to 21.1 degrees (Note: LNB connection arm has dashed line mark "20 (LT) 0 (center) 20 (RT)")

I used both methods to find T5/IA-5 but I could not find T5/IA-5. I need a lot of help I can get.................

Thanks

Your settings look OK.

Make sure your receiver is tuned to an active transponder.

Check out www.lyngsat.com

Daystar on IA-5 is strong for me. My Coolsat blind scans it as 11834 V but Lyngsat lists it as 11836V. One or the other will probably get it, as I said, its strong. SR 20770

I will try to use couple transponders per everyone reommended as referenced below:

1. 11834 V (Lyngsat lists it as 11836V).
2. 11986
3. 11991
4. 12053

What is the "SR 20770"? Sorry for asking question. If you mean the transponder 20770, my coolsat does not has it unless I have to add it in.

Thanks

It means symbol rate. Every transponder has 3 pieces of data that must be entered in the receiver:

1) Frequency (eg: 12,177 MHz)
2) Polarity (eg: VER)
3) Symbol rate (eg: 23,000)

If you look at transponder #27 here ---> http://www.lyngsat.com/ia5.html you will see this data listed.

SR=Symbol Rate. Go to Manual scan in the Coolsat 5000 menu, you will see the sr's there, right below the frequencies. 11834 or 36 should already be there, look below and the SR 20770 will be there also

Thank you so much for everyone help. I'm very sorry to everyone that I don't have times to try again since I posted the first question because I was out of town. When I return home on April 20, 2006, I will try again per everyone recommendations.

There is a question I would like to ask everyone. When I turn my Coolsat 5K on with active transponder 12,177 MHz for example, I begin to move the dish left and right. When I found the T-5/IA-5 satellite, are the level and qaulity signal in my coolsat will turn green colored for the T-5/IA-5 satellite?

I will keep everyone update

Agains, thank you so much.

The first try, I use the Transponder 19, frequency is 12177 & SR 23000 on the Coolsat 5K; level 86% & quality 0 to 8% are in red colored. I moved the dish left and right veryyyyyyyyyyy slowly for couple times between 120 to 140 degrees, I can't find the T-5/IA-5 sat. Do I do something wrong I can't find the T-5/IA-5. I appreciate If you can give me any suggestions.

PS: I will try different transponder tomorrow.....

Thanks

don't forget the elevation angle is just to get you close try up and down movement 1 degree at a time to fine tune. also east and west 1/16 th of inch at a time allow a few seconds for the receiver to see the change.

I did exactly per your sugguestion with 12177 & 11894 transponders with CS5K and still not find the T-5/AI-5. I would like to try differents transponders and which transponder should I use with CS5K and digiwave dish.

There is a war between me, digiwave dish, and CS5K.

I appreciate so much if you can give me any suggestion and an ideas.

Thanks

Aren't Invacom LNB's 10.6 GHz rather than 10.75? Could this be an issue?

should be no problem set your basics angles and azimuth for IA5. then slowly adjust east and west up and down to you get a lock.
