I'm concerned that you seem to get signal "quality" (which typically means you are locked on to one satellite or another).
If you move your dish as much as you do, the quality should drop to 0 (no lock)
As you get close to a satellite, it should suddenly "pop" some signal quality, and at that point, be quite touchy and lose that quality if you move past the satellite (1/4" of dish movement).
If you point your dish at the ground, do you still see any "quality" indication?

remember small slow adjustments give roughly 5 seconds between each adjustment to allow receiver to detect it and good luck.

Hello Hassan,
Everyone has posted very good tips and suggestions here, if you can take a small TV and your reciever outside to where you are adjusting the dish (if weather allows) it would be best so you can look at your signal as you are adjusting. The Dish is very very very sensitive so please move it very very slow, like snail slow. Also point to an azimuth of between 220 to 240 this will be your target with the 29 to maybe 30 dish elavation, so you want to sweep the dish from 220 to 240 in very very very very slow increments and with each small sweep tilt the dish up and down say from 28 to 31 again very very very slowly. From what I hear you are very very close.
Transponder 27 on IA5 is pretty easy to pickup frequency is 12177 Vertical symbol rate is 23000, set your reciever for manual channel scan and input these numbers and then follow my directions above, when you start to get a signal you will want to fine tune it by really just getting the highiest signal level and quality you possibly can then tighten everything, and dont forget to skew/tilt your LNB to peak your signal. Then scan for channels by pressing scan or ok button, if you get channels such as kurd Tv or fashion TV you are on IA 5.
Remember not all transponders have the same signal strength and quality so it will varry a little between different transponders.
Make sure your cabling and connections are all in good shape. No rust or bad terminations.
When using a compass to get the correct azimuth make sure you are not placing the compass near any metal, hold the compass in your hand and and gt your corect reading. Also make sure your mast is in poerfect plumb, anotherwords the shaft part of the dish mount is straight. One last thing be patient as this will take time and you will only get very good at it with practice. Good luck and let us know how it turned out.
again here are some helpful links that will help you out, please read them through and then go to the dish and try again..

Some very good advice and a very helpful post. The only thing you should point out is that azimuth and elevation vary depending on your location. For example, for Los Angeles, CA, the azimuth for IA5 is 145 and the elevation around 44 degrees. The numbers you gave would be for somewhere near Halifax, NS.

Hello All,
First of all I would like to thank every one of you. You have been very helpful to me.
Yesterday I was able successfully to get my dish working.. it is working perfect. I hooked up a DVD player instead of a TV. I connected every thing (Reciver, DVD player and the dish) out side.. In 45 minutes I was able to pick a signal then I moved every thing to where they are supposed to be hooked up. Again half an hour later I was able to pick a signal and all the channels that I need. This morning it has been very windy in New Brunswick and I have lost the signal but I am quite sure it is due to the weather.
Once again I do appreciate all the help that you guys have given me.
Hassan

Hi Hassan, glad to hear everything is working for you. Yes, it is very windy in New Brunswick this morning. The wind may have moved your dish a bit on the mast. I mark my mast and mount with a pencil so if it ever moves, I can just move it back to those marks.

Mine just blows over on this so-called "hurricane proof" metal stand...
I keep meaning to fix it but then I lose interest....
