King's Control Rain Fade

Has anybody tried King's Control Rain Fade product. I would like to hear other people's experience before I plunk down $35 (inc postage) for this product.

I've also read on other forums that Rain-X works just as well for 1/4 the price. Any experiences?

I would not waste the money.

My opinion is rain fade occurs between your dish and the sat, very high rain in the sky not on your dish.

YMMV

I second that opinion. Rain fade is actually caused by the raindrops "scattering" the satellite signal before they reach your dish. Apparently the diameter of the average raindrop is very close to the wavelength of a typical KU band signal; so when the signal hits the raindrop it literally is absorbed or scattered by the drop. I remember reading this somewhere. So any type of spray product to apply to your dish won't help at all; what it may help doing is preventing snow buildup on the dish pan. I've heard that WD40 and Pam oven spray works great believe it or not...

I third the opinion, for some reason people have confused atmospheric conditions and propagation of signals with water on their dish.
