NO signal on the ECHOSTAR9/Intelsat Americas 13 ?
Hello again everyone :mozilla_cool: ,
I decided to repoint my 36" dish from the G10R sat,to the Echostar9, :mozilla_laughing: .Instead I ended up getting the ECHOSTAR 7 sat #-o . I'm looking to get the NBC,CBS, ETC feeds, from my home state. I know that the G10R sat is at 123 degrees, and the Echostar 7 is at 119. So the Echostar 9 would fall between them, right? :mozilla_undecided:.I tried pointing my dish, both up and down slowly,as well as side to side, but still no luck :mozilla_cry:.Is this a weak satellite? What is the strongest TP on the ECHOSTAR 9 sat? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Go back to G10R.
There's nothing to look at on IA13/E9 on Ku band.

Hey pmb1010,
Thanks for your response.I was mainly interested in receiving the CBS,NBC feeds, nothing else :mozilla_laughing:.I know most of everything on this sat is encrypted. Is there anyone else getting local tv channels off this sat?I went to the lyngsat site, and saw that the local tv stations, that I'm looking for, were avaliable on this sat. Is there another sat with some decent programming that worth pointing the dish at? I would like to get more than whats on the G10R.If you take away the spanish channels on the G10R sat,you end up with just 28 channels. :mozilla_frown:. I don't mind checking out other sats.I would like to see what else is out there :mozilla_laughing:.Thanks again.

Sure. With dish network receiver and subscripton you can get those.

I'm not sure where you live but your locals are not on E9. Everything on that sat is encrypted.DishNet does not offer locals for $5/ month and then turn around and make them FTA.
There are plenty other of sats to look at. checkout Lyngsat some more. Lots of news feeds on IA6 and AMC5. PBS stations on AMC3.

Hey Guys,
My mistake, on FTA channels being on the Echostar 9 sat #-o .I must have mistaked it for another sat. :mozilla_oops:.Thanks Kevision, for the suggestions on the IA6,and the AMC5 sats .I checked out both of these sats on Lygnsat, and looks like there is quite alot of feeds on them.I will probably try pointing the dish at one of these sats tomorrow. Thanks again guys.Good lookin' out :mozilla_cool:.

The audio for the PBS stations are digital AC3. If you have digital out on your reciever, route it into the digital in on a surround sound amplifier for some extremely nice sound.

I have the digital Lifetime Ultra receiver. It does not have a digital out, just RCA jacks and an SPDIF jack, whatever that is.But I use a Bose system and get nothing.

hmmm, the SPDIF jack is your digital out. plug an RCA cable from that to the coaxial in on your bose. Please note, this does not always work. some systems require a designated "coaxial cable". but i've had great results from just a normal RCA cable.
