Settings for Galaxy 10R in Westerville, Ohio 43082...

We have a Fortec Lifetime Classic Receiver, Fortec 80cm Dish, Universal lnb and a SM3D12 motor. We live in Westerville, Ohio 43082 and have mounted the dish on our garage. We set up most satellites using USALS without a problem and can get AMC3 and IA5 without a problem. When I told the dish to go to 123 degrees W for Galaxy 10R the signal was very low for an FTA Scan and listed 3 channels called "VOLKSWAGE" briefly and then two other nondescript channels but no picture/sound and then did not lock in. On a FULL SCAN a bunch of "NAGRIA" (sp.?) channels showed up listing a $ and of course no picture or sound? I am supposing this is the wrong satellite it is pointing to?

What is our correct Azimuth, Elevation and lnb tilt for this motorized system? Can we get Galazy 10R ? Thank you!

Alice

It seems that your motor is not tracking the arc perfectly. Achieving this takes a LOT of time and trial and error. If you are getting AMC 3 and IA 5, that means you are tracking the arc good general at higher elevations but when the motor starts moving far west and/or east it will not be on target and it will miss the satellite.

Galaxy 10R transponders are very weak especially for an 80cm dish. The strongest transponder on there is probably the volkswagen one and the research channel one which is 11805 H I think.
