1 motor running 2 receivers

I'm currently running a receiver and a motor. I want to add another receiver to my existing motor. Can I run a splitter from the motor to the 2 receivers? If not, please advice.

I THINK that the motor needs to have one cable go straight to a receiver to work.. although I am not 100 percent sure if there is a workaround.

I think the moderator is correct,in the output of the receiver you can put a y connector and by using a plain infrared remote which you can get for about 50$ you can now transmit to more then one monitor. You can even control the motor from more then one location

I don't think this is possible. Even if the motor could be controlled by two receivers, the LNB cannot. A splitter is a big no-no because of polarity switching issues. Since the LNB is connected into the motor and then the motor is connected to the receiver this method won't work.

What about using dual LNB, running the 2nd wire back (by itself) to 2nd receiver?

The 1st receiver would need to be used to point the dish to a selected sat, and 2nd receiver could look at any tranponder the dish is currently looking at.

Yeah, I thought about that too but I kind of figured the poster wanted to have each receiver control the motor. Maybe he doesn't I don't know.

I know that 1 receiver will be the master and 1 will be the slave. I would be happy with that setup. Please give me details on how.

I stink as a graphic artist, but this is what I was thinking.
The cable from LNB port 1 goes to motor, then to receiver 1.
It is the "main controlling" unit, it does all the selecting and pointing.

receiver 2 connects via it's own cable to the port 2 on the LNB.
It can only go where receiver 1 is pointing. Acts as a "slave".

I did it and it's working fine. 1st receiver is a master receiver, which drive the dish and the 2nd receiver is the slave, which just catch whatever signal the 1st one happen to be at.

Thanks all. You guys are the greatest!!!

A few months ago, we hooked two receivers as shown in the picture above. We where able to control the motor using rec 2. It seems the DiSEqC signal passed through the lnbf ports to the motor and made it move. LNBF used was a standard DUAL LNBF.

What I was suggesting was not splitting the input but the output fromthe receiver. You need only one receiver and using a universal remote( RECEIVER AND TRANSMITTER)which you can buy at Best Buy for about $50.-. You put the receiver near the sat receiver and the transmitter at whatever monitor you want to use.You can split as many out puts as you want but only one station at a time.

Yes, you could do that. In fact we have an RF Universal Remote Control that helps: See #2 here: http://sadoun.com/Sat/Order/Remotes/Universal.htm
