Non-Penetrating Roof Mount Question

Hello Admin or anyone else. Is there a way to adjust the mast on the non-penetrating roof mount other than by putting shims of some kind under the frame in places where they're needed. It does not appear that there is any other way built-in to the mount. The bolts are either tight or loose. There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust the mast. I setup my dish last weekend but as many others have discovered I'm sure, I'm only tracking part of the arc and I'm pretty sure it's because the mast is not perfectly vertical. I'm gonna fix it this weekend one way or another. Thanks for all suggestions.

which type of mount are you using? the standard looking type? Also do you have a pic of how it is mounted?

It's the one that Sadoun calls the "Non-penetrating roof mount". Model NPR4A. There's a picture here http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/I...roof-mount.htm
Unfortunately my roof is flat, but not flat like a sheet of glass. Over the 50 years that my family has owned the home there have been several times when roofers have applied a hot tar to maintain the sealed integrity of the roof. This results in a surface that has some waves, bumps, etc.

Another question. When I am up there this weekend putting shims in to make the mast PERFECTLY level and plumb, should I remove the dish and the motor mount before doing the leveling, or can I leave everything connected and do my shimming while all is still attached.
Thanks for helping.
