Installation Setup Assistance Needed

I have checked mast and it is perfect plum, Using a Viewsat 2000, hh90 motor dead center and aligned with dish direction, 31" size dish, latitude set on motor to my city 39.04 (66604Zip), dish pointed to due south minus deviation shown for my area (176), dish elevation set at 38.9, Viacom 0.3 db single skew at 0. Used meter to improve signal slightly. Great signal strength but no signal quality. What am I missing? Does Declination Angle and Elevation of Obsticle apply?

I have been in the same situation for several days. Let us know how you solve the problem.

First, what satellite did you chose for true south?

Second, as with all installations, i suggest you rely less on the published settings, and more on your individual location. The published setting will get you really close, but you need to modify things slightly for your setup. I'd say leave the motor elevation where it is, and move the dish elevation up and down very (very) slowly while you watch the quality meter.

Finally, signal strength means nothing. Im not sure what meter you are using or what it is measuring, but quality is the only thing that matters. Point to whatever satellite you are looking at, and watch the quality meter only.

keep us updated with your progress :mozilla_laughing:
