elevation scale help...

I have a new fortec 90 cm dish with a stab HH100 motor. Setting the stab motor's elevation scale (lat 45.4) was extremely easy, self-evident and comes with detailed pix of such in the user's manual. When I proceeded to set the fortec dish elevation value at the calculated 23.2, I was a little perplexed in that the scale that came with the dish is a bit crude and doesn't give any indication as to what to mark the scale against: the leading edge of the underlying support arm, the middle of the support arm or the trailing edge of the support arm???. I received literature for both the stab motor and the fortec star lifetime classic NA receiver, but no literatue with dish except an explosion diagram for nuts and bolts set-up. Can anybody give me a hint as to how to set this elevation scale somewhat accurately. I have tried to look at pix here on sadoun and gone to fortec star's website: no results. I bought all of the equipment from sadoun about 10 days ago...
thanks in advance for any help

thanks benny...
but more what I am have trouble with is the actual manipulation of this type of set up: http://sadoun.com/Sat/Products/Forte...es/FC080C5.jpg
this pic is just not clear enough or big enough to be of any help.
say if I am trying to adjust to 23.1, where should 23.1 in relation to the support arm behind or to the stabilization bracket... I know this seems like a stupid question. I have read this site and others thoroughly and understand all the concepts involved, but am having trouble with the hands on part of this step...
again thanks in advance for any help someone can give me with this.

I'd really suggest to anyone setting up a dish, motor or no, to just adjust the elevation by hand until you get a signal. the FTA signals are too weak and narrow to rely on published values. They will get you close, but your own mount, terrain, gravity, etc will throw in enough variance to keep you from getting a signal. So I say keep the motor elevation where it is, find the sat you want, and adjust the dish elevation very slowly until you get a signal, then lock everything down.

What is there confusing about the fortec dish?? Can you read the dish's elevation scale? Just set that little red line somewhere in between 20 and 25 and that would be around 23.

If it's the U bolt mount, there is an "indent" in the middle of the square tube. That's what you line up the elevation scale to.

But - my calculated value, and the value I ended up at was different by a few degrees, 3 if I recall.
