problems Locking BB 1000 to Galaxy 10R
Hello all,
I'm a noobie at this FTA stuff,so bare with me,LOL. #-o
I received my Fortec 36" (90cm) dish, and fortec single Universal LNBF today, and played around with it for a couple of hours.I"m using a BB 1000 receiver with this dish and LNB.I was able to pick up a few sats without any problems. The signals were between 75-92,depending on the sat that I was on.Not bad considering it was overcast, and rainy. However,I could not get the receiver to lock onto the signals. :mozilla_yell: The dish is in a fixed position(no motor).I'm only trying to get Galaxy 10R,nothing else. I have the receiver on TP5,freq.11800,symbol rate 26657,and polarization V.Are these correct? I don't beleive that there is anything wrong with the dish or LNB.I think,I do not have the proper info in the receiver.I have the dish bracket plum,so the dish shouldn't be a problem.Any info would be super!
Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with that receiver. You indicate that you got a signal reading, but did you get a quality reading? the signal strength rarely means anything. Stand in front of the dish and you'll probably generate a signal of 80 or above.
The transponder info you have programmed is correct. id suggest moving the dish very slowly to peak the quality meter.

Thanks Kevision for your quick response. My quality signal bounces from 32- to about 75.This is the Black Bird S1000 reciever that i'm using(Similar to the Black bird S2000),which is a FTA satellite receiver.I'm also using a sat finder meter, which makes for finding these sats easy.I just can't get the receiver to lock onto one of them.I am not sure that I have the correct info in this receiver(symbol rate,TP freq.,Which TP is strongest on G10R,etc.).Without this simple info,I could be right on G10R,and wouldn't know it.I think,LOL.Not to mention,I hear to pinpoint the G10R is a real pain, can't wait for that, :mozilla_frown: .
Thanks again,Kevision

Hello All,
I took my time with the satellite aiming, and finally nailed this G10R bird =D> .I'm receiving about 45 channels.I have to say,I does take a bit of work getting locked onto this sat.Between mounting this dish, and then aiming it,It probably took me about 7-8 total hours working to get the G10R sat.I told you I was a noobie at all this FTA stuff, LOL. :mozilla_laughing: Thanks guys, for your help(Kevision, and Alfi)! Does anyone know of any other sats, that might have some good programing?
THANKS GUYS, REGARDS, PIONEER

I think TP15 is at 11985 V and SR 5152. Looks like there is only three channels, WVXF-TV, WSJP-TV, WPRU-TV.

Hello Alfi,
I could not get TP 15 to lock :mozilla_cry: .I tried the SR 5152,and both freqs (11985,11988),and nothing.I would like to lock TP 15,even if its only a couple extra channels :mozilla_laughing: .According to lyngsat,I should have 4 channels on TP 15(wvxf,wsjp,wpru,wvgn).Also,Can you tell me if anyone has a problem with some TPs ?I have a problem with TP1.the quality signal seems to vary (98-84),every now and then. The other TPs(5,6 etc) are locked on and steady at 98 on the quality. Should I purchase an in line amplifier,to help solve this quality signal fade? The signal itself will vary sometimes from 76-74,on TP1. Any Info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again,Pioneer :mozilla_cool:

PIONEER,
At this time I do not have my receiver (sent it out for exchange) so I will not be able to scan any TP for you, sorry. I am sure one of forum pros will help you.

Hello All,
Ok,thanks Alfi for your response  .Rainman,There is two TP15s shown on lyngsats list. One is TP 15, which is on freq.4000,V,NTSC VC2 format, which has Showtime West on it. The other is TP 15, which is on freq. 11988,V, and I believe on symbol rate 5152. TP 15 on freq.11988 has 4 TV stations on it.This is the one I cannot lock.I'M not sure of the symbol rate.Any ideas?
