Set the motor to your latitude, or 41.8 (42 is OK) on the motor's scale bracket (be sure to use the correct side - look in the manual that came with the motor).
Set your dish elevation at 38.5
Make sure the Motor is set to center, and line up motor and dish dish to 183 degrees on from a compass reading (especially look at picture 5 in the link below):
Follow these directions :

Now, in your receiver us USALS to configure your settings. You'll need your latitude and longitude in the USALS area.
Pick AMC3 as the satellite, and in the transponder section, pick 12110 for the transponder. This is one of the
PBS stations. Have the motor drive to AMC3 using USALS.
Now, adjust the side to side and dish elevation (do not touch motor elevation bracket, that says at 42) and move very slowly, watching for the QUALITY indication you are getting a signal. Dont pay attention to the "signal" level, it wont tell you much. Move is very small increments (1/8" at a time) looking. It is very touchy. Wait a couple seconds before moving, it takes that long for the receiver to "lock" on a signal.
Once you get some quality adjust for highest reading.
Now us USALS to move to another satellite,
IA5 for example, and see how well you did.
