Need Help with 100cm motorized setup...

I bought a 100cm dish with a SM3D12 motor. I noticed that there is a lip on the mount to keep the dish from sliding down the pole when it is mounted on a pole as a stationary setup. My question is do I need to bend that lip out of the way in order to properly install the motor? I mounted the dish angle adjuster upside down so that I could have the lip at the bottom of the motor arm. When I set the angles on the dish and motor, the dish was pointing at the ground. I know that I am doing something wrong....HELP???

To clarify, do the dish angle indications go on the bottom or should they be on the top. One other thing, I am not using the two holes in the motor arm, shoud I be or is that for a different size of dish?

The more I look at the setup. I am beginning to think that my 100cm dish is not compatible with the SM3D12 motor. If that is the case why was I shipped a complete system with parts that won't work together? This is so frustrating. #-o

The 100CM dish comes with U-bolt-mount so there is no need to use the holes on the motor. These are used with different type mount dish as the 80CM dish. I believe you should bend the lip away to install the motor correctly. The motor cannot be installed upside down. The dish will have to be mounted to the motor in a way that the motor is above the dish.

The lip is designed to allow the bracket to rest on top of a pole.

The right way is to bend the lip up using a pair of pliers. Or, you could turn the u-Bolt bracket 180 degrees so the side with the lip is on the bottom.
