fine tuning help needed

I have:
Pansat 2500A
Fortec Star 80 cm dish
FSKU-V Universal LNBF
SM3D12 motor
The pole is perfectly plum and my Latitude is 39.34. N and my Longitude 119.41 W. My magnetic declination is -14 degrees for my location so that’s my true south and my most southern satellite is EchoStar 9/Intelsat Americas 13 at 121.0°W. My motor elevation is 40 degrees and my dish elevation is 44 degrees. I have 90% quality strength at this satellite but when I go to EchoStar 3 at 61.5°W. I have no quality so I gather my arch is wrong the further I go west. When I go to Intelsat Americas 5 at 97.0°W I have 45 to 50% quality and SatMex 5 at 116.8°W has less at 25 to 30% quality which is closer to me. My question is which one do I adjust to find my arc the motor elevation or the dish elevation or is something else? I have tried both but nothing seems to help me.

in your motor manual, on or about page 18 is some instrucitons on how to tweak the ends of the arc when this happens...

been there and done that

Send a message via AIM to DruzeTito
have you tried catching signal for your western most satellite or your easternmost?

The FORTEC Linear LNB will have trouble picking up the circular polarity of Echo3 satellite. Use something else on the end of the arc.

Satmex5 at 117 is a good candiate to dial your dish into.

Hello;
I suggest you go to T5 on 97 from your receiver. Move the dish and the motor as one unit to see if you get better quality. If not then change the dish elevation.Everything else should work just fine.

Can I do better

I really appreciate you guys taking the time to help a newbie with his problems. Let me see if I got this straight I did some more reading and came up with this. To start of with My Latitude is 39.34. N and my Longitude 119.41 W. If I use EchoStar 8/6 as my south position because of my latitude it’s 164.8 on the azimuth and with the magnetic declination of 14/15 that works out. Then swing around to EchoStar 7 it is 178.7 on the azimuth and use that as my closest satellite. Right now using what I have read and tried I am hitting:
Galaxy 11 at 91.0°W
Galaxy 3C at 95.0°W
AMC 4 at 101.0°W
Anik F2-E2R at 111.1°W
SatMex 5 at 116.8°W
EchoStar 9/Intelsat Americas 13 at 121.0°W
Galaxy 10R at 123.0°W
I really don’t know if this is the max I can hit or could I zero in on a couple more. I’m happy with the results right now I just have need to know if I could do better.

I have:
Pansat 2500A
Fortec Star 80 cm dish
FSKU-V Universal LNBF
SM3D12 motor
