4x1 DisEqc

Hi, I am new to the satellite world and I hope that somebody can help me.

My system: Fortec ultra, 4x1 DisEqc, 2x 23” dishes for 119,110, 91 (DSS LNBs) and one 90 cm dish for T5 with a Universal LNBF.

My Problem: I get no signal when I connect the Universal LNBF (T5) to the DisEqc, but it works fine when it’s connected directly to the receiver. I tested the switch and all ports are working fine.

Do I need to buy a 22KHz switch to get all of them?

A 4x1 diseqc should be able to handle four LNB's and one receiver.
Do you have the LNBs assigned in the receiver setup? In mine the
LNBs are assigned as part of the antenna setup. I have the LNB that
handles Echo 6/8 connected to port 1 on the diseqc. When doing the
scan for this satellite, I assign diseqc # 1 to it in the menu just before
I do the scan since that is the port I am using on the diseqc. I do the
same for the other LNBs. T5 requires a linear LNB (not circular as those for the Echo and DirecTV satellites). But you do have the correct one. You need to designate the appropriate LNB type in the receiver's setup. Everything has to match: LNB type to satellite, LNB type in setup menu, diseqc port on diseqc to that in setup, etc. You don't need a switch unless your number of LNBs exceeds four. Then get a 22KHz switch. But you don't need one for your current lineup. I'd double check the diseqc connections as to which antenna is on which port. Then check to ensure that the setup menu reflects the map of the connections. Also check that you do have the LNB type showing universal in the setup window for the T5 satellite. Maybe try varying the type until you get a good signal/quality reading in the setup window. Also try stepping through the TPs while watching the signal/quality readout to make sure you're not sitting on an inactive TP. LNB should be on, of course. Once you get a good signal/quality reading, scan the satellite.
Good luck, deenie
