INTELSAT 805/C HELP

hi IM FROM WINDSOR ONTARIO and im looking for signal INTELSAT 805/C.i was told there are one portuguese channel and two Brazil channels and thats what im looking for.unless someone can tell me a better signal to go for Brazil and Portuguese channels.i have a fortec ultra FTA reciever and a Fortec 30-33" dish ,should i be able to get that signal with what i have?or do i need a bigger dish, also what LNB do i need?I think know its 55.5 W, elevation 33.7, Azimuth 142.2, skew -26.9
but i couldn't pick it up.I even locked into the dishnet 61.5 and figured i had to go a little more south east but to no prevail.any help would be appreciated..thanks!!

Those channels are on c-band. Your equipment is ku-band. You either need a Big prime focus dish (6 feet or more) or there has recently been some limited sucess with getting c-band with 120cm (4') offset dish with c-band lnbf on it.

If that is too much hasle for you, you might consider trying to get Hispasat at 30 degrees W. It has few brazilian channels(Rede TV Sul).

Fortec will work with the bigdish. I don't think you can ues it though to move the big dish so it will have to be "slaved" to a receiver that can do it.

As for hispasat, Rede TV Sul is on Hispasat 1D. If you look here http://www.lyngsat.com/hispa1d.html and look in the "beam" column, if it says North America or Americas, you will probably be able to get it.

Hispasat signals are usually strong so I think it will work with your dish, but maybe somebody else who has that size dish and has tried receiveing it can give you a better answer.

Fortec will move the HH motor for smaller dishes (like the motors and dishes that Sadoun sells). I don't have a big dish, but it is my understanding that it can't mive big dishes as it works on a different system. Maybe someone else with more experience with that can elaborate more.

You should be able to move the dish by hand to the needed spot. I would take a compass and get a 'approximate' location of the direction you need to be pointed at I805, just to give you a starting point.

Remeber to set the LO setting for the lnb to 5150 in the Fortec for the c band lnb.

3442H you have to enter 3000 for the symbol rate and for 4080V you have to enter 4340 for symbol rate.

According to lyngsat those appear to be accurate http://www.lyngsat.com/i805.html

remeber for the lower frequencies below 3700 you will probably need a 'wideband' C lnb. Although some have had luck tuning a standard 3700-4200 lnb to those lower frequencies.

i think im all set ,the motor for the dish is working im hooked up to the old reciever for the motor and the LNB wire into the FTA is that correct? The LNB for the dish is a Aorsat Polaris C-Band LNBF, Temp K 17,19,21,23,25,30,35,40,45,50 and the DB is54,56,58,60,62,64,66,68,70 not sure what any of that means but that is what was on the LNB.now my question is what Fortec Ultra LNB do I choose?my choices are STANARD /5150
SINGLE SH 5150/5750
SINGLE SL 51505750
UNIVERSAL2 9750/10750
UNIVERSAL1 9750/10600
SINGLE STACK 10750V/11250H
and if i choose one is there anything else besides the transponders that i need to change? thanks!!

The standard single 5150 should be the only one needed. Everything else should be a go once you input the transponder information.

The lo setting of the lnb at 5150.

Is the FTA receiver hooked directly to the dish / lnb , or do you have another receiver inline in the mix?

Are you using any diseqc switches or any other type of switch in the system? If not make sure that none of the diseqc options are selected in the receiver setup.

Are you sure the lnb is working properly?

A 6 ft dish may be a little on the small side to pick up some c band signals. Especially if they are somewhat weak signals to start with. I would try to hit PanAmSat 9 just 3 degree to the west of I805 maybe to just test the lnb/dish and see if you can get a signal there. Many of the signals on P9 are somewhat stronger than many on I805. http://www.lyngsat.com/pas9.html

the dish im using is actually a 8' so ive been told.I have the old reciever hooked up just with the motor cable.the LNB i put in the FTA LNB in spot.the dish hasn't been used in years but last time the LNB was working.another thing i forgot to mention was when i go west it warns me when im at my limit like its suppose too.but when i go back east the dish sticks in certain spots showing warning but a couple of tries and it will move again.i know that don't sound good thats why i thought maybe the dish settings was off.And no switches im running it direct to the reciever.
