amc 4 help
I have a fortec 30" dish trying to pick up AMC 4. I live in windsor ontario right across Detroit. I know the elevation should be 37.8 at 101 skew 18.7.but i can't get a singnal for nothing.Im using a Samsung single digital LNB.should i be using a universal LNB?I also tried using the old Direct TV reciever picked up what i believe is 101 the only thing is my elevation is 45 when i know it shouldn't be that high using Direct singnal. One last thing is there is a tree about 100 or more yard away but i believe my elevation should go over it .any help would be appreciated..thanks !!! #-o

amc 4
I am using a multistar Pantec Ultra.I asked the dealer if i should be using a universal LNB and he said it is no different then the samsung im using(no difference in signal reception) Also when i find Direct TV 101 should i be going more south, east or west from direct signal? So a universal LNB is what I need? thanks for your reply !!!!

im not sure what that Samsung LNB is, so i hope im not giving confusing info. With a universal LNB, you should be able to recieve amc4. if the dish is pointed at directTv 101, there is no need to adjust it. It's in the same spot, just different frequencies/polarity schemes which a universal LNB should address.

Before you get a universal LNB make sure the receiver is set up for the Samsung standard LNB (assuming the Samsung is standard); make sure the L.O. frequency is 10,750 MHz. Then make sure you edit the receiver transponder list for active AMC 4 channels. The dish pointing is the very same as Directv 101; for Windsor it should be around 220 degrees azimuth and 34 elevation.

Thanks Kat for your reply.I currently have my elevation at 43 and im locked in at 1oo% with Direct TV 101,unless i have the wrong signal? Also the FTA im using has no samsung options just standard.I did use a compus and the dish is pointed around 220 degrees. i had to tape the LNB neck when i used the direct tv LNB in order for it to fit in the Fortec 30" dish bracket ,i couldn't get a direct tv signal using the samsung LNB either, maybe thats why my elevation is higher? but with the Samsung i did pick up the T5 signal but most channels said signal was scrammbled.anyhow thanks again for your reply's much appreciated..

Also with a universal LNB you get a wider range of reception. Where as the LNB used for dish programming is at the higher end and circular (Left right polarity if you look at Lyngsat).

With Fortec Ultra you can either do a power scan which will find all active frequencies, or you can go to Edit TP/Satellite and add that transponder to AMC4. SR is symbol rate. If you are already on AMC4, you don't have to move your dish.
There are no Brazilian chanells on AMC4. Tho only FTA Brazilian channel I can think of is Rede TV Sul on Hispasat.

Yes, just type in 03003 on the remote keypad and it will work.
