TV and Satellite share one cable, possible?

I only have one cable (A) running from outside of the house to my TV. I want to use that cable for both CableTV and FTA satellite program. Can I do the following?

Outside the house, CableTV signal (from cable company) + Satellite signal (from my FTA dish) combined through a switch and connected to the one cable (A) to my TV.

At the TV, I connect one cable (B) to cable A, cable B is connected to TV for CableTV, I then connect another cable (C) to cable A, cable C is connected to my FTA receiver.

I guess one switch should be used at each end of cable A.

Will that setup work?

Thanks!

Just use a pair of diplexers; much simpler and no switching necessary..
