Help Installing my satellite on the roof
Hi. i am installing my satelite or dish on the roof right, well with a motor. but i read that the pipe or pole must be vertical, but my pipe is not vertical, its like straight then a curve how ever you want to describe it, so do you think it will work??
and then my dish is kinda wierd because, its not like most other dishes, i mean its not easy to hook a motor to it, because, i would have to drill a spot of the motor pole so i could screw or like iton to the dish, because my dish i will show you what i mean. i'll upload pictures, and idon't this won't work, but i just wanted to give it a shot, and its hassle for me to go up the roof, especially with no ladder so i will post pictures up here, and let me now if it will work, i doubt it though
thanks alot i appreciate the help. and oh yah i got a coolsat pro4000 reciever, even though i haven't watch any channels yet with it, because my sat is not hooked cuz i am working with it, through the menu and every thing it looks hot.

Well you can use that "bent" pipe, but when all said and done, the upper part must be vertical (level) when measured on all sides.
Next question: now do you plan on mounting that J pole to your roof (securely, so the dish wont move?)
I think you need to look at something like this:

Hey thanks for the reply i really appreciate it, and umm yes i do have a bracket on top of my roof, see it was there, just stationary with and i was getting telestar 5 on it, but now i want to put put a motor on it, like you see it on the picture. but man its just sooo ugly right now, i hooked it on the roof, but the angle its so ugly man. its not straight either, its not going to work, now all that said and done, i don't mind buying one of this tubes, but which one, i need one for terrace
i mean should i get 15/8 diameter tube or the 23/8 diameter tube
i mean the first one or the second or the third

Best place to mount a motor is on a pole in the ground. I do not believe it's safe to mount a heavy motor on a roof or roof trim.

I see, i would do that, and it would even be easier for me, and i could always mess around with the sat and every thing, but i don't think theres a clear view of any satlite for me on the ground, i am surrounded by trees from all sides, thats why my dish is installed on the roof.
i will look around again, to see if i can find a spot, on the ground, because trust me, its alot of hassle for me to go on top of the roof, because i don't have a ladder, and my dish is like installed on like tip of the front edge of the roof, so its scary lool, but any ways thanks for the recommendation
