Not all channels on T5 are free. Many of them are scrambled and you cannot get them. :mozilla_frown:

Intelsat Americas 5 at 97.0°W

This is a Great point now that iv got a responce. Questions to who ever can replay to them. As we see in the url here for telstar5 http://www.lyngsat.com/ia5.html we have a chart.

Colour codes on this satellite chart: analog, clear analog, encrypted D2-MAC digital, clear digital, encrypted interactive feeds

Iv notice if i enter the the tp and the Symbol Rate and V or H I can veiw the FTA Channle . Now this is my question I have a pansat 2500a and a ViaCast the Viacast has a cardslot some channles on the Viaslot say insert acoss card some dont . I belive the channles that ask me to insert the acoss card are digital enc . Now with my pansat iv reflashed it with a bin off the net i can get digital encrypted channles why ? I would like no Mod Or Member or Admin take any afence to my post im not refering to HACK Talk Nor Hacking ! Im trying to under stand how a True FTA reciver works. You also said that some channles are free and some are paid how does someone go about paying for a subbed channle on a fta box. Also why does FTA boxes have Card slots ? Is this for extra eeprom space ? Can someone relate thanks.

OK, the fact that you have reflashed your receiver with a "bin off the net" indicates that you are entering forbidden territory and normally I would send this thread off to megabyte heaven. However, because you are asking valid questions I am going to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

On the lyngsat chart the only channels you will get are the ones marked "digital clear" (they are yellow in color). Anything else is a pay channel and not intended for FTA reception. You would need to contact the program provider and ask about how to pay for their service. In many cases they provide a dedicated receiver and smartcard with the package.

Your Pansat receiver was just fine with the factory installed bin; there was no need to reflash it. I suggest you reflash it back to the factory bin (available on the Pansat website) and be content with the free channels on T5, and there are lots of them.

It simply reverts the receiver back to the way it was before leaving the factory.
