Elevation chart Conflict

I live in Springfield Ohio which is 83.78 longitude and 39.95 latitude. I have a 85cm dish and SM3D12 (PM900) with a Pansat 2500A. I looked up on a chart here and it says set the motor at 39.95 (latitude height) and the dish at 40. When I look at the Chart from Pansatusa.com and look at their PM900 chart they say 39.7 for the motor but says for the dish ....24. for Dayton Ohio. This is quite a differance. This chart is at http://www.usafta.com/PM900.pdf I would like to do this once and would like some input on which I should go by. Thanks for any help !

I think you might have been on the "fixed dish" (non-motor) Sadoun calculator page. Click on the site where it says "if you have a motor click here..."

When you add the motor, the dish calculation is based on a formula:
(example, for the STAB motors) it can be either

P - (60 - latitude)
or
p - (45 - latitude)

I cant remember what the formula is for SM3D12 right now, but for example if you use top forumuala you get this:

p - (60 - 40)
For columbus, P= 43.8

So 43.8 - (20) = 23.8 to set the dish elevation to.

Thats very close to the 24 you have in the manual PDF.

I don't think my motor can be used in that chart as decribed above it is not a STAB. I went to this sight and the chart is on page 11 at http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Products/S...OUN-SM3D12.pdf and it doesn't agree with the one from http://www.usafta.com/PM900.pdf. All I want to do is try to figure out what to do as it could be confusing enough if I don't have the correct infomation. If you view both of the above charts you will understand. Thanks again for your time.

As I said, I didn't remember the formula.
Look at this site, shows the formula about halfway down for sm3d12:

http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installati...stallation.htm

Use whichever one of the 3 places agrees...

I have both the Sm3d12 and an HH90, so maybe I was thinking of the HH90 when I replied above ops:
