AMC4 Installation for Charlotte, North Carolina

I need help with AMC4 installation. I have Fortec Star 80 cm with Fortec Single Universal LNB and Pansat2500A receiver. I need to get signal from frequency 12120 and symbol rate 30000. I was able to get strength from 90 to 95 percent, but the quality is zero. On some occasions, the quality is between 10 and 30 percent. But it disappeared quickly. I set the elevation between 44 and 45 degree.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Have you tilted your lnb? For certain locations the lnb needs to be tilted a certain number for degrees. If you go to sadoun.com and click on installation support and then click on dish calculator. Then just pick what satellite you want and where your located and it will give you the lnb tilt. Depending where your at theres clockwise tilt and counterclockwise tilt. Think of it like this:

IF you dont tilt the lnb this is what could happen.

You set your dish so that when the signal comes down it hits a certain spot on the dish and it bounces off that spot to hit the lnb, if you dont have the lnb pointed correctly, the signal could sidswip the lnb and not be transmitted into your receiver. Thus you wont get any quality.

Yes, I did tilt the lnb. According to Sadoun's website, I need to tilt counter-clockwise about 23 degree. I put it at #11 or 55 minute mark. Is it correct?

In your case, for a universal lnb the LO will be 10600/9750 . Most receivers default to this setting when universal lnb type is selected.

For standard lnbs the LO is 10750.
