Question for the pros

My system is up and running with no problems, motor is working fine but I have a general question due to lack of knowledge.

I use a Satworks 3688 with a 36 inch dish. I have blind searched the satellites and everything is fine. But, something I don't understand. Some channels that I sporadically see feeds or programs also show nothing. The yellow light is lit up showing there is quality. The signal meter shows quality in the 80s and 90s. But there is no picture or sound.

Is there such a thing as a channel being on but broadcasting nothing? I see this on all satellites. Then at other times I can go to that same channel and see a feed or programming. Any help appreciated.

Hmm... it could be scrambled. Or a data signal... these are my guesses. Nothin to be worried about though.

I forgot to mention that. My receiver shows an S to indicate if a channel is scrambled. The channels that are doing this do not have that "S" indication. It just seems strange cause I can go to that same channel the same day or the next day and it shows feeds or programming.

To futher explain what I'm trying to say, I will try this route.

If I go to T-6
12168V
6111

My signal is 73%. My yellow light is on (front of the display) to indicate the transponder is live. When I scanned it the name come up "sinclair n". It says nothing on the display about it being scrambled. But all I get is a black screen, no sound.

Is there such a thing as a transponder being on 24 hours but not transmitting programming, or is my receiver (Satworks 3688) weak and needs tuning or what ever? Thanks all.
