General FTA programing

HI all,

I'm a newcomer to FTA and I don't see what all the excitment is about !

I'm an E.E. specializing in microwave receiver design for the space program ,so from a technical standpoint I think the hardware is pretty
neat..... But i just can't justify the expenditure based on the uninteresting
programing ! Am I missing something ?

By the way I already have both Direct TV and Dish Network.

Thanks

Dave

Re: General FTA programing

There are plenty interesting channels which are not available on both DN and DirectTV, example the ethnic channels on Telstar5. If one is looking for premium channels like HBO..., then DVB "FTA" system is not the right choice
You might check http://www.lyngsat.com/america.html to see the FTA channels available in N. America
