LNB signal at 70 always
I have an DBS-2000+ receiver with a DMS International LNBF, My signals always reads 70, it doesn't matter if it's mounted to the dish or not...
Is there some setting I'm not seeing, or i the LNB no good?

That doesn't help, I've been there.
How come I get 70% signal strength when the lnb isn't even mounted on the dish?
It should be 0 if you ask me.

It is typical with BEC receivers to show signal even if you have nothing connected.
Make sure you have your LNBF setup correctly. If you have a UNIVERSAL LNBF, make sure LNB1 is setup as UNIVERSAL.
Also, make sure you are using a LIVE transponder to check for signal and quality.

It seems to find some signals, but I'm having trouble getting the quality bar over the 50% I must be doing something wrong here, anyone know what it is?

Did you scan the satellite after the bars went yellow? The receiver will not show any channels until you scan the transponders and store the channels into memory.
A quality reading of 50% is good; the quality reading will typically be lower than the signal stength reading.

The receiver will save the channels automatically.
If no channels are showing up after the scan then one of three things is wrong:
1) You have scanned one transponder only rather than the whole satellite.
2) You have selected "CAS" only rather than "FTA + CAS"; you want FTA channels.
3) You have scanned a transponder with no FTA channels on it.
Here is a link to what is available on T5; the active transponders are those that have yellow "DVB" colors contained in the listing, such as "12,152" and "12,177" in the left hand "Frequency" column.

I've got a lock on 11898 V tp9 symbol rate 20000 which should have a couple of channels, but I don't get any of them.
I have set my lnb correct, and am scanning for both FTA and Scrambled.

The symbol rates are in the 6th column from the left; identified at the heading of each transponder as "SR".
I just checked the 11,898 transponder and I get some channels; they are called "PG201, PG202", etc.
Try another transponder, the 12,152 MHz one for example.

Also, after the receiver has finished scanning you must press "OK" on the remote to complete the scan process. Perhaps this is why you can't see any channels.

Ok the symbol rates are clear to me now, If I lock into a satellite like galaxy 4R, It doesn't lock into all the transponders is that normal? Also the transponders it does lock onto, when I do a scan... it shows in the screen the tv channels, and music channels it will find. but it doesn't seem to find anything.... I do scan for FTA and Scrambled, also I have tried both settings for the LNB (C band+KU band and KU band) still I get nothing. something is wierd here.....

If it shows the TV and radio channels it "will find" that means it is finding them; but for some reason they are not being stored into memory or it would appear that way if you cannot watch them after scanning. I really don't know what could be wrong. I have never tried out the BEC 2000 that you have; just the 6600+ and 6800 series. I'm afraid I'm stumped !!! :?

It doesn't show them being found... There is an area for them, and it stays blank.
Thanks for the help anyways.

The receiver is finding them; the only way it would show those channels is if it detected them during the scan; there is no such thing as "an area for them". For some unknown reason the receiver will not show the channels after storing them in memory. Go check the "TV Channels" list or "Edit Channels" -- see what it shows in the list.
Try doing a master system reset; then re-scan the satellite. That's about the only thing I could suggest at this point.

Page 26 in the manual - the 6600+/6800 manual at least...
MENU -> OPTIONS -> Factory Default -> OK

couple more questions;
The lnfb I have is a DMS international ASC321, I noticed you can send 14 to 18 volts to it, and 0 to 12 volts. where is this supposed to be set at?
should I be able to get a lock on all satellites?
Should all transponders I find in lyngsat's website work?

You set the receiver LNB at 14/18 volts.
You won't be able to get a lock on all satellites.
Not all transponders transmit in a format compatible with your BEC receiver; look for transponders that have the "DVB" format (in the 5th column from the left); and the color must be yellow indicating "Digital, Clear".
And of course you must be in the KU band, not the C band; the KU band transponders are identified by their frequency being 11,000 MHz (approx) or above.
