Max distance from dish to receiver?
What is the maximum distance I can place a Ku and/or C dish from the receiver? There is no power available at the dish for an active amplifier or anything else that needs power.

If you are looking to go somewhere around 100 feet you better use RG11 instead of RG6, if it is around 50 feet get yourself a good quality RG6.

I have did a few in the 400 to 500-foot range but now things get costly, with coax or hard line an also need to step up on wire size too, because of the higher ohms on the return pulse counts as well as working a servo motor.

I have 150 feet and still get good signal. For the outside cable, I highly recommend getting the one with the built-in ground wire attached to a grounding block. An nearby lightening strike will FRY your entire entertainment center if you don't ground it.

I have about 150 feet of coax and power lines for C and Ku bands. They worked fine for 150 feet. Piece of cake. I should add 50 feet into the setup to see if it works fine for you, but I may not be able to until late June.
Best...
