Need help

It's been a few years since I touched a Bud. I have to do a repeak and a polarity change and have a LNB/Feedhorn question. I won't know the exact circumstances until I get onsite. The question is, if the Bud has a single feedhorn picking up vertical polarity, will I be able to use this feed horn to pick up horizontal? Is it just a matter of adjusting the skew or will I need a new feedhorn altogether? If a new feedhorn is needed, can I reuse the LNB? All replies are appreciated. Again, it's been awhile, thanks again.

A c-band feedhorn will switch polarity for you. There should be a small box on the back of the feedhorn, that is the polarotor. If you look down the throat of the wave guide, you will see a small probe, when you change channels that probe will move 90 degrees, switching between h and v.
You say the feedhorn is able to pick up vertical polarity, is it stuck on vertical, not sure what your question is? Can you clarify?

Starman is right -- all feedhorns are vertical and horizontal "ready", for lack of a better word. The polarity motor (if you have one) controls the polarity. Some BUDs have an electronically switchable LNB -- especially BUDs that are non-moveable. The LNB does the polarity switching -- just like a mini-dish, only bigger...
