A
c-band feedhorn will switch polarity for you. There should be a small box on the back of the feedhorn, that is the polarotor. If you look down the throat of the wave guide, you will see a small probe, when you change channels that probe will move 90 degrees, switching between h and v.
You say the feedhorn is able to pick up vertical polarity, is it stuck on vertical, not sure what your question is? Can you clarify?
